Bengaluru sits at 900 metres on the Deccan Plateau — the highest of India's big cities, which is why it stays mild while the rest of the country bakes. That altitude is the whole point: it's a place to walk around comfortably, through Lalbagh's botanical garden or the old Basavanagudi streets, not a monument-checklist city.
