🌍 About Aruba
Aruba is a flat, dry desert island off Venezuela, outside the hurricane belt, where constant trade winds keep the heat bearable and the divi-divi trees permanently bent southwest. The two beaches aren't interchangeable: Palm Beach is the high-rise resort strip, while Eagle Beach is wider, low-key, and home to the gnarled fofoti trees everyone photographs. For something distinctive, drive into Arikok National Park — close to a fifth of the island — all cactus, lava rock, and a battered windward coast that looks nothing like the calm leeward side. Eat keshi yena: a whole Edam or Gouda shell hollowed out and stuffed with spiced meat, olives, and raisins. It's sunny and dry essentially year-round; December–April is peak and priciest, so the cheaper September–November fares still land you good weather.
