🌍 About Mahé

Mahé is the lush, mountainous heart of the Seychelles, where granite boulders tumble into turquoise water and the forested ridges of Morne Seychellois National Park rise straight from the coast. Beau Vallon is the sociable beach, but the coastal path to Anse Major leads to quieter sand, and the famously photogenic shores of Anse Source d'Argent wait on neighbouring La Digue. In the tiny capital of Victoria, the Sir Selwyn-Clarke Market sells vanilla, cinnamon, and just-landed fish. Creole cooking shines here: grilled bourzwa, octopus curry, and the sweet plantain pudding called ladob, washed down with Takamaka rum. Giant tortoises lumber through the gardens, and the curious twin-lobed coco de mer remains the islands' signature curiosity.
