🌍 About los angeles

The French dip is verified LA-born (1908, the Cole's vs Philippe's feud); June gloom is a real coastal pattern. Here's the card: — Los Angeles is less a city than 80-odd neighborhoods stitched together by freeways, so pick a base and commit — the beach (Santa Monica, Venice) and the eastside (Silver Lake, downtown) are an hour and a world apart. The French dip sandwich was invented here in 1908; Philippe's, near Union Station, still serves it with hot mustard that'll clear your sinuses. For the real food city, though, skip Hollywood and eat in Koreatown or at any taco truck doing al pastor off a spit. Come September and October: warm, clear, and past the "June gloom," when a marine layer greys out the coast all morning. Summer is reliably sunny inland but hazy at the beach; winter is mild and the cheapest time to fly.
