Checked against every return fare on sale as we write, this route has one price and then a big step: £48 return on Ryanair out of Stansted, flat, for four fifths of the cheapest seats — and then nothing at all until £161. So a fare in the high forties is simply the going rate rather than a find, and a three-figure “typical” price describes a ticket that is not on sale. The step up is real, though: Wizz Air from Luton was £161–£176 and a connection £179 and up.
