Cheap Flights Munich to Dubai 2026 — Fares, Airlines & Best Time to Book

Munich to Dubai is a fast, popular long-haul-lite route — a non-stop hop of around six hours that works equally well as a winter-sun break or a springboard to Asia, Africa and Australia. You can fly direct or, if you’re chasing the lowest fare, connect through a European or Turkish hub. This guide covers who flies the route, what a fair return costs in euros, and when to book.

Route: Munich (MUC) → Dubai International (DXB)

Distance: approximately 4,585 km (2,850 miles)

Non-stop flight time: about 5h 55m – 6h 35m eastbound

Direct flights: Yes — Emirates flies non-stop from Munich year-round on the Boeing 777, and Lufthansa adds its own non-stop service from late October 2026; in our fare data the directs run €605–€1,058. One-stop options are far cheaper — from €251 — but check the arrival airport: most of them land at Sharjah (SHJ), a separate emirate about 30 km from central Dubai, rather than at DXB.

Fares from Munich to Dubai (EUR)

Dubai’s high season is the European winter, when the weather is warm and dry and demand from Germany is strongest — November to March, plus the Christmas/New Year peak, are the priciest. The fierce Gulf summer (June to August) is the cheapest time to fly if you can handle the heat. The figures below are typical economy return fares in euros; the lowest are usually connecting itineraries, with non-stops sitting toward the higher end.

Month Demand What to expect
January high (winter sun)
February high
March high (spring break)
April medium
May low-medium
June low
July medium (summer holidays)
August medium
September low-medium
October medium
November high (season starts)
December very high (holidays)

Checked against every return fare on sale as we write, this route has two tiers with a wide gap between them. Connections run €251–€519 with a median of €302 — that is the ordinary price, so a fare around €300 is normal rather than a find and under about €280 is genuinely good. The non-stops are €605–€1,058: Lufthansa from €605 and Emirates from €631. A sub-€400 fare on this route is always a connection, and usually one that lands at Sharjah.

Airlines on this route

Non-stop (about 6 hours):

  • Emirates — non-stop from Munich year-round on the Boeing 777, around eight departures a week; the anchor operator on the route with a strong economy product and generous baggage.
  • Lufthansa — adds its own non-stop Munich–Dubai service on the Boeing 777 from late October 2026 (initially several days a week), useful for Star Alliance miles and onward German connections.

One-stop (can be cheaper, about 9–13 hours total):

  • Turkish Airlines via Istanbul — frequent, good economy, often the lowest connecting fare.
  • Pegasus via Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen — a budget one-stop that can undercut everyone if you travel light.
  • Austrian Airlines / SWISS via Vienna or Zurich — short Lufthansa Group connections when the direct fare is high.

The non-stops are so quick that they’re usually worth the small premium, but a single stop through Istanbul can save €40–€120 in peak weeks. If time matters, book direct; if price is everything, compare a Turkish or Pegasus connection.

When to book & how to save

  • Book 1–3 months ahead for the best balance of price and choice; the winter high season and the December peak sell out earliest.
  • Avoid the peaks — Christmas/New Year and the February–March school breaks are the most expensive; the Dubai Shopping Festival in January also lifts demand.
  • Fly in the shoulder or summer (May, June, September) for the lowest fares; summer is very hot outdoors but indoor Dubai runs year-round and prices drop sharply.
  • Use Dubai as a stopover: Emirates connects onward across Asia, Africa and Australia, so a DXB stopover can be cheaper than a direct fare to your final destination.
  • Check checked-bag rules: Emirates and Lufthansa include a checked bag on most fares to Dubai, but the cheapest “light” tickets and budget one-stops may not — compare the all-in price.

Arriving in Dubai

Flights land at Dubai International (DXB), only about 5 km from the old-town districts of Deira and Bur Dubai and roughly 15 km from Downtown. The cheapest way in is the driverless Dubai Metro Red Line, which stops at Terminals 1 and 3 and reaches Downtown, the Marina and beyond for around €1.50–€3. A metered taxi from the rank costs roughly €8–€18 to Downtown or the Marina depending on traffic, and ride-hailing apps such as Careem and Uber operate at similar rates. The Metro doesn’t run in the very early hours, so taxis are the fallback for late arrivals.

Frequently asked questions

How long is the flight from Munich to Dubai?

Non-stop flights take about 5 hours 55 minutes to 6 hours 35 minutes eastbound (Munich to Dubai), and a little longer coming back. One-stop itineraries through Istanbul, Vienna or Zurich typically take 9 to 13 hours in total, depending on the connection.

Are there direct flights from Munich to Dubai?

Yes. Emirates flies non-stop from Munich to Dubai year-round on the Boeing 777, and Lufthansa adds its own non-stop service from late October 2026. If you’d rather save money, one-stop flights with Turkish Airlines or Pegasus via Istanbul can be cheaper than the direct fare.

How much does it cost to fly from Munich to Dubai?

It depends almost entirely on whether you connect. Connecting returns ran €251–€519 across the dates we could price, median €302; the non-stops ran €605–€1,058. The winter high season and December peak push both tiers up.

What is the cheapest month to fly from Munich to Dubai?

May, June and September are usually the cheapest. In the dates we could price, connecting returns started at €251 and the cheapest non-stop at €605. Avoid December, January and the February–March school breaks, which are the busiest and most expensive as northern Europe escapes to the winter sun.

Which airlines fly from Munich to Dubai?

Non-stop: Lufthansa (from €605, joining the route from late October 2026) and Emirates year-round (€631–€1,058), both on the Boeing 777. One-stop, cheapest first in our fare data: AJet (from €251), Pegasus via Istanbul (€276–€317, behind most of the cheap fares) and Turkish Airlines (€519). Austrian and SWISS also connect via Vienna or Zurich but did not appear among the cheapest fares when we checked. The connections are roughly half the price of the direct — but most of them land at Sharjah, not Dubai.

Which airport do I fly into in Dubai?

It depends which fare you buy. The Emirates and Lufthansa non-stops arrive at Dubai International (DXB), the emirate’s main airport, about 5 km from the old town and 15 km from Downtown, on the Dubai Metro Red Line and a short taxi from most hotels. Most of the cheap one-stop fares land at Sharjah (SHJ) instead — a separate emirate about 30 km from central Dubai, with no metro connection, so add the transfer to the price before you call it a bargain. (Some budget flights also use Al Maktoum / DWC further south — check your ticket.)

How far in advance should I book Munich to Dubai flights?

Aim to book 1 to 3 months ahead. Fares climb into the November–March high season and spike around Christmas and New Year, so booking before the winter rush almost always wins; summer deals can appear closer to departure.

Is it cheaper to fly on weekdays?

Often, yes — midweek departures (Tuesday to Thursday) are usually a little cheaper than Thursday–Sunday flights, which carry the weekend-break crowd. Flexible dates can save €30–€90 on a return, so shift by a day or two if you can.
