Most travelers fly into Guatemala City and head straight for Antigua an hour away — but the capital earns a day. La Aurora airport sits right inside town in Zona 13, so it's an easy stopover either way. Zona 1 is the historic core, with the National Palace and Plaza Mayor; Zona 4 is the more interesting half — a district of converted warehouses, street art and good restaurants that locals call the Brooklyn of Guatemala.
