🌍 About Aguadilla

Aguadilla sits on Puerto Rico's northwest tip, where Atlantic swells earn the coast its nickname, the "North Shore of the Atlantic." Crash Boat Beach is the anchor — its name comes from the air-sea rescue boats once stationed at the adjacent Ramey Air Force Base to pull downed pilots from the water, and the painted pier is now the spot for jumping, fishing, and sunsets locals will argue are the island's best. Buy alcapurrias and pinchos from the beach vendors instead of sitting down anywhere. Serious surfers head to Wilderness and Gas Chambers nearby. The water stays in the low 80s year-round, but winter (November–February) brings the big, consistent swells along with the crowds and higher fares. For calm swimming and cheaper flights, come in summer when the surf flattens out.
