🌍 About Lima

Lima is one of the world's serious food cities — two of its restaurants regularly rank among the global top ten — but the dish to order is the cheapest one: ceviche, raw fish cured in lime and chili, served with the leftover "leche de tigre" marinade you drink like a shot. Eat it at lunch, when the fish is that morning's catch. Skip the gray colonial center for Barranco, the seaside district where old mansions hold bars, galleries and a footbridge nicknamed the Bridge of Sighs. One catch: Lima sits under coastal fog, the garúa, from about May to November — flat gray skies for months. Come December to April for actual sun and warm evenings, with February and March the most reliable. That's also high season, so book fares early.
