Belfast's defining story is the Titanic — built at the Harland & Wolff shipyard, where the two huge yellow Samson and Goliath cranes still loom. Titanic Belfast museum sits on the actual slipway where she launched. But the thing to do is a black-taxi tour of the peace walls: drivers from both communities take you along Falls Road and Shankill Road past the political murals to the Cupar Way wall, still gated at night, where you can add your own signature. For a pint, the Crown Liquor Saloon is a genuine 1880s Victorian gin palace with private snugs — National Trust-owned, not a theme bar. Eat an Ulster fry (add soda and potato bread). Come May–June: it's the driest, sunniest stretch.
