🌍 About Medellin
Medellín sits at 1,500m in a valley near the equator, which gives it a near-constant 22°C all year — locals call it the City of Eternal Spring, and you'll never want air conditioning or a coat. The neighborhood worth your time is Comuna 13: once the city's most violent barrio, now a steep hillside threaded with public outdoor escalators (built 2011) and covered wall-to-wall in murals by local artists. Eat bandeja paisa, the regional plate — beans, rice, chicharrón, chorizo, fried egg, plantain, avocado and an arepa on one tray; come hungry, it's enormous. The climate barely changes, so any month works, but December–February is the driest and sunniest. April–May and September–November bring near-daily rain, though showers are usually short.
