🌍 About Krabi, Thailand
Krabi is southern Thailand's limestone country, and the place that justifies the fare is Railay — a peninsula walled off by sheer cliffs, so there's no road in; you arrive by longtail boat from Ao Nang or Krabi Town. Those same walls make it one of the world's best beginner-to-expert rock-climbing spots, with bolted routes and schools right on the beach. Eat southern Thai, which is hotter and sharper than Bangkok food: order kua kling, a bone-dry minced-pork curry stir-fried with turmeric and fierce chilli. The Krabi Town Walking Street market (Friday–Sunday evenings) is the cheap, good place to graze. Come December–February for dry, clear skies — peak climbing and island-hopping weather. May–October is monsoon: cheaper fares and emptier beaches, but expect afternoon downpours and choppier boat crossings.
