🌍 About Cape Town

Cape Town sits under Table Mountain's flat-topped 1,000m wall — the cableway up spins as it climbs, so everyone gets the view. Skip the generic waterfront and walk Bo-Kaap, the old Cape Malay quarter on Signal Hill's slope: rows of houses painted lime, pink and electric blue, settled by people the Dutch brought enslaved from Southeast Asia, which is why the food here is the city's best. Order bobotie — spiced minced beef under a set savoury custard, sweeter and gentler than a curry. Catch is the seasons run backwards for the value. November to March is warm and bone-dry but the priciest and busiest; June to August is cheap and quiet but genuinely wet. Aim for the September-November or March-May shoulders — good weather, calmer prices.
