🌍 About Reykjavik

Reykjavík is the world's northernmost capital and a surprisingly playful one, all corrugated-iron houses painted in bold colours beneath the soaring concrete spire of Hallgrímskirkja. The mirror-glass Harpa concert hall throws light across the harbour, and the Sun Voyager sculpture points its steel prow out to sea. Life revolves around the geothermal pools, where locals soak and gossip in the open air, and around Laugavegur, the main street lined with wool shops, record stores, and bars that stay lively while the summer sky barely darkens. Grab a lamb hot dog with crispy onions from the beloved stand by the harbour. The city is also the launch pad for the Golden Circle, thundering waterfalls, and, once the nights turn dark, the Northern Lights overhead.
