🌍 About Haikou

Haikou rewards those who swap beach resorts for genuine local rhythm. Walk along Evergreen Avenue, where ancient banyan roots twist around colonial-era arcades, then follow the scent of fresh coconut to the volcanic villages scattered across the island's northern rim. Sample Hainan's legendary coffee culture at Xingang Road's bustling stalls before wandering through the atmospheric Qiongbei Temple complex. The city's nickname, "Summer Capital," captures its unhurried spirit—where mango trees shade street corners and the evening breeze carries the sound of Hainan opera drifting from temple courtyards. Whether you're cycling past steaming rice fields or watching fishing boats return to Bynam Bay at dusk, Haikou offers a window into island life untouched by the mainland's relentless pace.
