🌍 About Zagreb
Zagreb has one museum worth crossing the city for: the Museum of Broken Relationships in the Upper Town, where strangers donate the objects left over from failed love affairs — a wedding dress, an axe, a toaster — each with the story attached. It won a European museum award in 2011 and there's nothing else like it. Eat štrukli: a baked roll of dough stuffed with cottage cheese and soured cream, served savoury as a main, not a dessert. The Upper Town itself, reached by a 66-metre funicular, is the old aristocratic quarter around St Mark's tiled roof. Come in May–June or September: warm, walkable, and cheaper than the coast. December is the real draw — Zagreb's Advent was voted Europe's best Christmas market three years running.
