Dubai Connect is the most complete package in this series. Where Turkish gives you a room and Etihad makes you pay your own way into the city, Emirates provides hotel accommodation, transfers, all applicable meals and a visa to enter the UAE — and unusually, it names the hotels in its own terms.

The fare thresholds
Dubai Connect is free only if your ticket cost enough. Emirates counts base fare plus carrier-imposed fuel surcharge, and publishes the same figures for every origin region — Europe, the Far East, Australasia, the Americas, the Gulf, Middle East, West Asia, the Indian Ocean and all of Africa:
| Itinerary | Minimum fare |
|---|---|
| Transiting Dubai once (one-way) | USD 450 |
| Transiting Dubai twice (return) | USD 700 |
| Emirates/flydubai combination, one-way | USD 500 |
| Emirates/flydubai combination, return | USD 1,200 |
Which flights count
- Both legs must be Emirates flights (marketed by Emirates or Qantas) or Qantas flights (marketed by either).
- Not available where Emirates is only the marketing carrier, or on other airlines.
- Emirates-marketed, flydubai-operated flights can qualify — but only from Terminal 3, and at least one leg must be Emirates-operated. Terminal 2 flydubai flights do not qualify.
- A single booking on one ticket, issued on an Emirates (176) document.
- You must be 18 or older to claim it travelling alone. Emirates states the service is available only to passengers 18 years or older as of the date of departure on the inbound flight to Dubai, if travelling alone. Up to two children — passengers under 18 on that date — may be accommodated when travelling with one adult.
The hotels Emirates actually names
Emirates states accommodation will be at the Copthorne Hotel Dubai, the Le Méridien Airport Hotel Dubai, the JW Marriott Marquis, or another alternative at its discretion. It makes no guarantee about which one, or about facilities, location or star rating.
All applicable meals are provided by the hotel, allocated by your check-in time and served at the normal times for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The visa — included, but not guaranteed
How and when to book
- Request Dubai Connect at least 12 hours before your inbound flight to Dubai.
- Emirates only accepts requests made at least 24 hours before the inbound flight departs, so the practical window is earlier than the 12-hour line suggests.
- On arrival, go to the Dubai Connect desk in Arrivals.
- You may be asked to show a credit card at hotel check-in.
The offer is subject to hotel availability, and Emirates reserves the right to modify or withdraw it without notice. It also lists grounds for refusing service even to a passenger holding a valid voucher — failure to meet UAE travel requirements, refusing lawful information requests, appearing incapacitated, or abusive behaviour toward staff or other passengers.
Frequently asked questions
What is Emirates Dubai Connect?
It is Emirates’ free transit package for long Dubai layovers. On a qualifying connection of 6 to 26 hours, Emirates provides complimentary hotel accommodation, transfers, all applicable meals and a UAE entry visa.
Do I need a minimum fare for Dubai Connect?
Yes. Counting base fare plus carrier-imposed fuel surcharge, you need at least USD 450 transiting Dubai once, or USD 700 transiting twice on a return. On Emirates/flydubai combinations the thresholds are USD 500 and USD 1,200.
Why was I refused Dubai Connect on a long layover?
The most common reason is not being booked on the best available connection — Emirates requires the itinerary with the shortest Dubai transit between your two flights. Other causes are falling under the fare threshold, holding two separate tickets, or flying on a carrier other than Emirates or Qantas.
Which hotels does Dubai Connect use?
Emirates names the Copthorne Hotel Dubai, the Le Méridien Airport Hotel Dubai and the JW Marriott Marquis, or an alternative at its discretion. It gives no guarantee as to which hotel, its facilities, location or star rating.
Does Dubai Connect include a UAE visa?
Yes, a visa to enter the UAE is part of the offer. But issuance is at the discretion of UAE immigration, Emirates accepts no responsibility for a rejection, and for certain passport holders Emirates will not lodge an application — those passengers are not eligible. All passports need 180 days’ validity.
How far ahead must I book Dubai Connect?
At least 12 hours before your inbound flight to Dubai, and Emirates only accepts requests made at least 24 hours before that flight departs. Then meet Emirates at the Dubai Connect desk in Arrivals.
Can children use Dubai Connect?
The service is for passengers 18 or over travelling alone. Up to two children under 18 can be accommodated when travelling with one adult.
