The free-night offer every round-up still quotes ended on 30 November 2024. Oman Air’s live stopover page contains the words “free” and “complimentary” exactly zero times. What it does sell is a decent paid package.

Last verified: August 2026, against Oman Air’s own live Stopover in Muscat page (fetched 9 August 2026) — not an archive copy.

Search for the Oman Air stopover and you will find the same claim on site after site: a free night for premium passengers, two-for-one for economy. It is worth knowing that this was a promotion which ran until 30 November 2024, and it is gone. We checked Oman Air’s live page directly, and the words “free” and “complimentary” do not appear on it at all.

What Oman Air publishes
Guests can book a one, two or three-night stopover in Oman. The room rate includes a daily buffet breakfast, hotel taxes, service charges and VAT — which is more transparent than most airline hotel add-ons, where taxes appear at the end.
The eligibility limits
- The offer is available for travel to all destinations except Oman — this is a stopover product, not a way to discount a holiday in Muscat.
- A charge may apply for stopovers in Oman on certain tickets, so Oman Air tells you to review your ticket’s terms carefully.
- A maximum of one “Oman Stopover” offer per booking.
- It cannot be combined with other Oman Air promotions or with participating resort and hotel offers.
- Obtaining an Oman visa is the guest’s responsibility.
If you are not staying the night
Oman Air publishes itineraries for an 8-hour stop as well as one, two and three nights. The short version takes in the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, Mutrah Souq and the Mutrah Corniche, the Al Jalali and Al Mirani forts by the harbour, Qurum Beach and the Royal Opera House. Longer stays add a tour of Jabal Akhdar, the Green Mountain, and a desert safari with dune bashing.
What Oman Air suggests you do with the time
Oman Air structures its own itineraries by length, which is a useful planning shortcut even if you book the hotel elsewhere:
| Length | Oman Air’s suggested shape |
|---|---|
| 8-hour stop | Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, Mutrah Souq, the Mutrah Corniche, the Al Jalali and Al Mirani forts, Qurum Beach or a coastal boat ride, and the Royal Opera House |
| One night | The same core, paced across an evening and a morning, with Omani cuisine and a sunset stroll on the Corniche |
| Two nights | Adds a boat tour along the coastline and time at the Royal Opera House rather than just the exterior |
| Add-on trips | Jabal Akhdar, the Green Mountain, with terraced farms and cool mountain air; or a desert safari with dune bashing in a 4×4 |
Is it worth it?
As a hotel programme, no — it is a paid booking and this series contains eleven airlines that will house you for nothing. As a way to see Muscat, it is fine: bundled breakfast and taxes make the pricing legible, and the airline’s own itineraries are a decent starting plan. Just do not book it expecting the 2024 freebie.
