No airline in this series comes close on length: 24 hours to 15 days at no additional airfare. The bed is a discount, but at up to 48% off it is the steepest discount network here.

Copa runs the longest free stopover in this series by a distance. Turkish gives you two nights, Qatar four, TAP ten days. Copa gives you up to 15 days in Panama at no additional airfare, on the outbound or the return. What it does not give you is a bed — like TAP, the hotel side is a discount network.

What Copa actually offers
Copa’s own wording: make a stopover in Panama at no additional airfare, for a 24-hour to 15-day stay, on your outbound or return trip — and it applies to new bookings only.
The hotel discounts
These are the accommodation offers Copa publishes. Note that two of them are night-count deals rather than percentages, which on a longer stay are worth considerably more than they look:
| Hotel | Offer |
|---|---|
| Hotel Las Américas Golden Tower | Book 5 nights, pay for 3 |
| Hotel Las Américas Golden Tower | Book 3 nights, pay for 2 |
| Central Hotel Panama Casco Viejo | 48% off your stay |
| Hotel Las Américas Golden Tower | 38% off plus breakfast |
| Faranda Express Hotel Soloy | 35% off your stay |
| Bambuda Santa Catalina | 30% off your stay |
Beyond hotels, Copa lists discounts on tours and activities — typically 10–15% — covering canopy tours, Casco Antiguo walking tours, Colón Free Trade Zone shopping trips, and multi-day packages to San Blas and Bocas del Toro.
How to claim the discounts
What Copa does not take responsibility for
A note on sourcing, because Copa makes this hard
Copa’s main site is fully client-rendered. Its stopover terms page returns an empty shell both live and in the web archive, its agency product page requires a login, and its own PDF is access-controlled. The figures above come from stopoverinpanama.com, which is Copa’s own site — the footer reads “Copyright © 2024 Copa Airlines, Inc.”, it is operated with Promtur Panama, and Copa’s press office directs travellers there to book. We checked that before citing it.
Frequently asked questions
How long can a Copa Panama stopover be?
24 hours to 15 days, taken on either the outbound or the return leg, at no additional airfare. That is the longest free stopover window of any airline covered in this series.
Does Copa give a free hotel in Panama?
No. The airfare side is free — you pay nothing extra to break the journey — but accommodation is a discount, not a giveaway. Copa publishes offers including 48% off at Central Hotel Panama Casco Viejo and five-nights-for-three at Hotel Las Américas Golden Tower.
Can I add a stopover to a ticket I already bought?
No. Copa states the stopover applies to new bookings only, so it has to be built into the itinerary at the time of purchase.
How do I get the Panama Stopover discounts?
Show the merchant either your travel reservation confirmation or the Stopover voucher email, along with identification, to certify you as a Stopover passenger.
Who is responsible if a hotel offer is not honoured?
The merchant. Copa states that promotional products and services are the sole responsibility of participating merchants, and that neither Copa Airlines nor Promtur Panama accepts responsibility for availability, purchase, delivery or quality.
