Everyone quotes “1 to 8 days”. LOT’s own terms say the layover is at least 24 hours with the maximum set by your fare — and that the service “may be chargeable”. Declare it seven days ahead.

LOT Stopover lets you break a connecting journey in Warsaw. The marketing describes a tidy one-to-eight-day city break. LOT’s actual terms — Annex 6 of its online-services regulations — are looser in one direction and stricter in several others, and they are worth reading before you plan around it.

The three things the coverage gets wrong
2. It is not necessarily free. LOT states plainly that “the Stopover service may be chargeable and depends on the fare conditions of the airline ticket purchased.” Whether you pay is a property of your fare, not of the programme.
3. You have to ask in advance. The benefits apply only if the wish to use the service is declared at least seven days before departure.
Who qualifies
- LOT-operated flights only.
- Return flights only — one-ways are out.
- All destinations to or from Warsaw airport. Not available on domestic flights between Polish airports.
- If more than one person is on the booking, the stopover covers everyone on it.
- Adding, shortening or lengthening a stopover afterwards — and changing or refunding the ticket — again depends on your fare conditions.
What you get
LOT lists three benefit categories. The concrete one is the discount code:
The other two categories are additional LOT benefits and partner benefits, both listed on LOT’s own Stopover page rather than fixed in the terms. LOT states the discount code and the current benefit information are emailed to the address on the booking within seven days of ticket issue, and that it is not liable for the proper performance of partner services.
Changing your mind afterwards
LOT ties almost everything back to your fare. Adding a stopover to an existing booking, and shortening or lengthening one already added, both depend on the terms of the fare you bought. So does changing or refunding a ticket that includes the service. There is no separate stopover change policy to appeal to — the fare rules govern.
Frequently asked questions
How long can a LOT Warsaw stopover be?
At least 24 hours. LOT does not publish a fixed maximum — its terms say the maximum duration depends on the fare conditions of the ticket you bought, and that the passenger determines the length each time.
Is the LOT Stopover free?
Not necessarily. LOT states the service may be chargeable depending on the fare conditions of your ticket. Treat it as fare-dependent rather than automatically free.
When do I have to request a LOT Stopover?
At least seven days before the departure date — the benefits are conditional on declaring your intention to use the service by then.
What is the LOT Stopover discount code?
A one-time code giving 25% off LOT domestic flights between Polish airports, calculated on the fare value only, excluding taxes, airport charges and fuel surcharges. It covers everyone on the booking and should be redeemed during the stopover. LOT emails it within seven days of ticket issue.
Can I use LOT Stopover on a one-way ticket?
No. LOT states the service is only available for return flights, on LOT-operated flights, to or from Warsaw.
